StarCo sources cassava directly from smallholder farmers across the local production belt, providing them with a reliable, year-round market. By treating farmers as true supply chain partners, we help stabilise rural incomes and ensure that our growth creates shared opportunity for the communities at the heart of our operations.
Nigeria is the world's largest cassava producer, yet much of its value has been lost through weak processing infrastructure. StarCo changes that by creating consistent industrial demand that encourages farmers to invest in better yields and practices — while sourcing close to the production belt to minimise post-harvest losses and deliver the freshest possible raw material.
Every tonne of starch we produce locally is a tonne that no longer needs to be imported. StarCo directly supports Nigeria's import substitution goals, conserves foreign exchange, and generates skilled employment across processing, logistics, and quality assurance — building industrial capability in a sector that touches food, pharma, textiles, and more.
Our processing operations are designed to minimise waste and manage water and energy use efficiently. Cassava is naturally a low-input, climate-resilient crop — making it an environmentally sensible foundation for our supply chain. As we scale, we remain committed to reducing our footprint and converting process by-products into value wherever possible.
